Most importantly, I care about relationships and I'm passionate about my work. I also feel blessed to be practicing in the field I first chose and continue to feel motivated in doing so. I received my B.A. in Psychology from UNL in 1994 and my Master's in Counseling from UNO in 1997. Since then I have worked both in outpatient and inpatient settings in Omaha. I enjoy private practice and advancing myself in the counseling field as it evolves. In my free time I love family time with my two children, time with friends and staying active. I am a Christian and see life through this perspective, although I effectively serve many clients who are both Christian and of other beliefs. I also love reading and a variety of creative pursuits.
Depending upon your experience and current circumstances, I will draw from the most beneficial techniques designed to meet your goals in the most time efficient manner possible. I have received advanced training in several techniques that have brought the most beneficial results to my clients in the past. These include but are not limited to Relational Therapy, Rational Emotive Behavior Therapy, Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (Level 2) for trauma resolution, Developmental Needs Meeting Strategy, an ego state therapy for healing unmet childhood or trauma related wounds, Family Systems Therapy and Relaxation/Visualization techniques. Therapy is not a "one size fits all" process, rather a time where we mutually decide on the techniques that will be most effective in achieving your goals.
No matter the difficulty that you are currently experiencing, we will work together to make improvements. Within the first session I will offer encouragements and insight, and we will develop a plan that will allow you to experience positive changes in a brief period of time.
